Jacob Keanaoalohaikuupoli Batalona Sr., 79, of Honokaa died May 4 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Hawaii, he was a taro farmer in Waipio Valley. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Honokaa. Service at 10 a.m. Burial noon at Kukuihaele Cemetary. Luncheon to follow at the church. Survived by sons, Jacob K. Batalona Jr. and Adley K. Batalona; daughters, Lucy Ann M. (Edvin) Batalona-Archila and Dora-Lynn K. (Michael Josepovicz) Batalona; sister, Margaret K. Marilyn Ann Debus, 85, of Kailua-Kona died May 2 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Betty Teruko Nouchi Haraguchi, 95, of Honolulu died March 28 in Honolulu. Born in Honaunau, she was a homemaker and part-time papaya farmer who loved gardening. Private service held. Mark Haruo “Cowboy” Yamaguchi, 61, of Waimea died May 6 at home. Born in Honokaa, he was a third-generation cowboy for Parker Ranch and member of Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Parker Ranch Roundup Club and Parker Ranch Softball Club, Waimea Little League volunteer and supporter of Hawaii High School Rodeo Association.
